The neighbors have been replanting their front yard flower beds and trimming their hedges. The birds have stopped coming for daily baths, I assume their time is otherwise engaged. New shoots are shooting out of bulbs and there is a big, unopened flower on one of the amaryllis bulbs. It will have four large red trumpet shaped flowers arranged like a loud speaker in old army movies.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Let me tell you, if you don’t cook for a family, you need an air fryer, except for bigjac who cooks like it is for a small army. I never imagined how good leftovers could be until I was on my own for meals so often. I brought home half a hamburger and some home fried potato chips a few days ago. When I took them out of the fridge, the chips were stale and a little soft. I heated the air fryer to 400° and cooked them all together for 2 minutes and the burger was tasty with a toasty bun and the chips were crisp when they cooled a little. It meal was as good as new. I can hardly wait to heat/eat some left over pizza. My fryer is not large enough for a family meal, although snacks would be great. But for a single person, it is a little bit a magic right here on Earth. I look up how to cook almost everything now. (Not all the recipes work ;) But some are classics, like the toasted Twinkie.
Go outside if it is nice in your area and enjoy the day.
